Ortho-K: clear vision all day, from lenses worn overnight

Orthokeratology gently reshapes the cornea while you sleep. You take the lenses out in the morning and see clearly all day — no glasses, no daytime contacts, no surgery. It is fully reversible, and it is one of the most effective options available for slowing short-sightedness in children.

  • Assessment and corneal mappingWe measure the shape of your cornea in detail to confirm Ortho-K is suitable and to design the lens.

  • Custom lenses, fitted and taughtYour lenses are made to your eyes, and we take you through insertion, removal and care before you take them home.

  • Follow-up until it is rightReviews through the fitting period, then ongoing monitoring — for children, that includes tracking whether progression is slowing.

Why NVISION

An independent practice built around specialty eye care

Diagnostics most practices don’t have

Corneal topography, dry eye imaging and advanced diagnostic testing are used as standard, not as an upsell. Our principal optometrist also directs a company developing diagnostic equipment for the profession.

Specialists, not generalists

Both of our optometrists hold postgraduate qualifications and special-interest accreditation in myopia control, orthokeratology and dry eye — the three areas most commonly referred elsewhere.

Part of a wider health centre

We are based in the Apollo Health & Wellness Centre and work alongside other health professionals, so care that reaches beyond your eyes is coordinated rather than handed off.

Time to do it properly

Appointments are booked to allow a genuinely comprehensive examination, with earlier weekday starts available on request and Saturday appointments every week.

Dry eye: treating the cause, not just the symptoms

Dry eye disease is chronic: the tear film your eyelids produce is either poor quality, or there is not enough of it. The result is sore, red, gritty or watering eyes and vision that blurs through the day. Artificial tears ease that for an hour — they do not fix the cause. We identify which part of the tear film has failed, and treat that.

  • A comprehensive dry eye evaluation$250 and an hour and a half, including infrared imaging of the meibomian glands, to establish whether your dry eye is aqueous-deficient, evaporative, or both. Every treatment decision follows from it.

  • Treatment matched to the causeLipiFlow clears blocked meibomian glands in twelve minutes of heat and gentle pressure. IPL treats the inflammation behind evaporative dry eye over four sessions. Rexon-Eye — found in New Zealand only here — works for both types. Punctal plugs and prescribed drops where those are the right answer.

  • Reviewed until the relief holdsLipiFlow reaches its best results six to eight weeks on, Rexon-Eye about four weeks after the last session. We review you through that window.
